We are Osprey class, your teachers is Miss Kew, who is supported by Mrs Bold. PE will be taught on a Tuesday and Friday, but kits should be in all week as this is subject to change.

In Year 3, your child will recieve weekly homework in several areas.

Each Wednesday, your child will be a set Mathletics homework, which is to be completed by the following Monday. 

Spellings will for the week will be set on Friday, and then tested on the following Friday morning. These spellings will be uploaded on a termly basis to the school website. 

There is an expectation for your child to be read with at home on a daily basis, and for their Reading Records to be filled in by the adult who read with them. 

To ensure children are safe when they come into school in the mornings, we ask that you leave your child at the cloakroom - this will also enable your child to become more independent and to help our learning start as soon as they arrive. If you need to speak to your child's class teacher, please send in a message or contact the school office and we will contact you to arrange this. Many thanks for your cooperation on this matter.

P.E. lessons will be taught on Tuesday by Miss Kew and Fridays with IGNITE - please ensure P.E. kits are in school all week and include the correct kit (navy t-shirt and shorts/trousers and warm top). Swimming will only take place in Year 4.

There are daily opportunities for children to read in school, in addition to weekly guided reading sessions with the class teacher. However, please encourage your child to read at home as this will help with their fluency, pace of reading and provide opportunities to widen their vocabulary, which will help develop their writing. More information regarding Accelerated Reader will be sent home this term.
