At Langford we use an electronic system called Class Dojo to record observations, comments and photos to show children’s progress across the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. This complements other forms of observation and assessment. These observations are not a daily occurrence; Class Dojo is used when capturing learning through photographs and videos is the most effective way to demonstrate progress.
In Class Dojo:
• Your child will have their own portfolio to document their learning.
• We will share a Class Story each week, highlighting the fun and exciting learning happening in class.
• Children will earn Class Dojo points, which are linked to our school values and learning behaviours. (Class Dojo may offer options to purchase points; we politely advise against purchasing any aspects of Class Dojo, as this is unnecessary.)
Families are strongly encouraged to upload their own photos and videos to celebrate learning and achievements that take place outside of school. We love sharing these with the class.
While Class Dojo has many features, there are some we will not be using at present, including the messaging/chat functions. Please continue to contact school through your child's class who teacher remains your first point of contact, either at drop-off/collection or via the 'Get in Touch' option on the School Life app/website.
We hope that you enjoy using Class Dojo to share and celebrate your child’s learning, keeping you connected with the classroom, and strengthening our home–school partnership.
