What does Maths look like in Langford Village Primary school?

In Langford Village Primary School, we aim to create confident and motivated Mathematicians, who enjoy apply their mathematical skills across a range of tasks, problems and subjects.

As a school, we focus on three core pillars for learning: Fluency, Reasoning and Problem Solving.

Through these three areas, we feel children will have the ability and confidence to access their relevant curriculum targets within their Maths lessons - including other subjects where mathematical skills are required.

In all Maths lessons, children will use a mixture of concrete and pictorial resources, before moving on to abstract representations of number.

Our Maths planning is supported by White Rose maths schemes of learning. Through WRM, we are able to provide a thorough coverage of each year group curriculum, whilst developing the three core pillars of fluency, reasoning and problem solving.
