We are Puffins class. Ms Panesar is the class teacher and Miss Walden helps us with our learning.
Information
P.E. lessons take place on Tuesdays. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit, with long hair tied back and earrings either removed or taped before arriving at school.
Please ensure your child has a coat in school every day, as we will still go outside for playtime when it is raining. Children may also bring wellington boots for wet weather. During warmer weather, please send your child with a sun hat and a lightweight jacket, and apply long-lasting sun cream before school.
Please also send your child to school with a full change of clothes, as we have only a limited supply of spare clothing. All clothing should be clearly labelled with your child’s name so that lost items can be returned to them.
Langford Village Community Primary School promotes healthy eating. Fruit is provided as a snack at morning playtime, but you are welcome to send your child with fruit from home. Please note that we are a nut-free school.
Children need a water bottle in class every day. Please ensure it contains only water and is clearly labelled with your child’s name.
There are daily opportunities for children to read, in addition to four sessions each week linked to their phonics learning. Please read with your child daily at home, as this will help improve their reading fluency, pace and intonation, broaden their vocabulary and develop their writing skills. Please sign your child’s reading diary after reading with them. Teachers will check reading diaries weekly.
Year 2 spellings can be found on the school website under ‘Homework’, along with a homework menu from which children can choose an activity that interests them.
For maths, we encourage children to practise their skills on NumBots and, after Christmas, Times Tables Rock Stars.
