Langford Village Primary School Swimming Lessons - Code of Conduct

• I will make sure that I have my bag ready for swimming and make sure I have tight fitting costume and swimming hat (goggles only to be worn if permission given by parent on the permission slip)

• I will make sure that I wear a seat belt and sit quietly on the bus travelling to and from swimming lessons

• I will get dressed sensibly in the changing rooms or cubicle and put my uniform into my bag

• I will talk with respect to others member of my school and to pool staff

• I will not enter the water before being given permission to do so by the swimming teacher

• I will sit at poolside quietly and wait for instructions

• I will not push anyone at any time in or around the pool

In the water pushing, ducking or deliberately splashing other pupils

is not allowed and children will be removed from the pool for safety purposes

• I will listen to my teacher/adult at all times, follow instructions and do my best

• I will do my best to keep myself and others safe

• I will ensure my child has correct swimming kit (see list) including swimming hat (compulsory)

• I will inform the school in writing if my child has a medical condition that does not allow him/her to take part in a lesson

• I will discuss water safety with my child and ensure that they understand the importance of following adult instructions.

• I will indicate on my Child's permission slip if I wish for my child to wear goggles.
