Welcome to Year 1!

We are Wrens class. Miss Morris is the class teacher. We also have Mrs Hambridge and Mrs T to support us with our learning.

We would like to develop your child's independence once they arrive in school and would appreciate your support by you saying a quick goodbye. If your child is upset, we promise to look after them and will give you a call to let you know they have settled.

P.E. lesson days are Tuesdays. Your child will need to come to school wearing their P.E. kit. Please do not send in a change of clothes as your child will remain in their kit for the day. 

Please ensure your child has a sun hat and a lightweight coat for warmer weather, and that sun cream has been applied before they come to school. Your child will need a coat and wellington boots for wet weather. Please also supply a change of clothes that can be kept in school.

There will be regular opportunities for children to read in school, in addition to weekly guided reading sessions with the class teacher. However, please encourage your child to read at home, as this will help with their fluency, pace of reading and provide opportunities to widen their vocabulary. If you have read with your child please log this on track my read so that we can acknowledge their achievements.

Children will need water bottles in class every day. Please ensure bottles only contain water and are labelled.

Langford Village Community Primary School promotes healthy eating. Fruit is provided for a snack at morning playtimes, but you are welcome to send your child in with fruit from home. Please note that we are a nut free school.
